Kendall Kicks off 2024 Peanut Butter Drive benefitting NeighborImpact Food Bank!

Join us for the annual Peanut Butter Drive at any Kendall dealership in Central Oregon! For the entire month of May, Kendall Central Oregon will be donating a case of Peanut Butter (6 jars) with every vehicle sold. The Peanut Butter will be going to Neighbor Impact Foodbank, an organization that provides food for Central Oregon through a network of 50 partner agencies and direct client services. NeighborImpact Food Bank sources, recovers, and distributes approximately 6 million pounds of food through local pantries, meal sites, and shelters in Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties. What does that exactly mean? This network feeds over 60,000 individuals every month including children, families, and older adults.

Why Peanut Butter? PB is one of the most highly requested items among food banks in the US. Food banks often have to purchase it to meet the demand for it. Peanut Butter is a shelf-stable protein, loved by kids and adults, and contains 8g of protein per serving. Why Now? In 2023, 1.2 million meals were served to children & teens in the summer lunch programs. This means when kids are not in school, they are still guaranteed a nutritious meal all summer long.

This initiative would not be possible without our grocery partners, Newport Market and Erickson’s Thriftway. Both grocery partners provide the Peanut Butter to us at cost so we can maximize the amount donated to Neighbor Impact. Not to mention, Newport Market hosts the drive in their store as well, giving customers the opportunity to donate more jars to the children & teens in our community at checkout. Last year, over $30,000 worth of Peanut Butter was donated by Kendall alone, with Newport Market matching that effort.
