Roll into the Excitement: Join us at the Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby!
Rev up those gravity-powered engines, the 3rd Annual Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby is almost here! Join us on July 20th, 2024 at River’s Edge Golf Course for an afternoon of jumps, turns, fastest finishes, and so much more! The Kendall Soapbox Derby was designed to create a memorable & thrilling experience for you and your team while giving back to our community. This year, Kendall Auto Central Oregon is committed to providing an exciting race with a car show prior to the Soapbox Derby, new obstacles, more awards, and activities from local vendors for the ultimate family experience.
Here’s how it works: Grab a team of up to five members, choose a theme, and build your Soapbox car. If you are not already a nonprofit organization, choose a local charity you will be competing on behalf of, and invite them to work with you or support you at the event! For the 2024 Derby, Kendall Central Oregon will be putting $500 for each car entered into the prize pot, up to $10,000. Each team is required to donate 50% of their earnings and can choose to keep or donate the other 50% to support the resources and initiatives led by our local nonprofits that make Central Oregon, Central Oregon. Our current registered teams will be representing organizations such as Summit HS Robotics Booster Club, High Desert Food & Farm Alliance, Every Kid Sports, Central Oregon Veterans Ranch, FORGE School, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Cascade Canine Rescue, Oregon Adaptive Sports, and Hanai Foundation. If you haven’t entered your team, there is still plenty of time left!
All teams are scored on the design and creativity of their soapboxes, judged by the spectators, as well as their performance on the racecourse! We invite our community to join us on July 20th starting at 2:00pm to vote on their favorite builds and cheer the teams on as they start their time trials at 3:00pm. Get ready for jumps, crashes, fast finishes, and so much more! Thanks to our host at Rivers Edge Golf Course, there will be many more activities, from a car show on hole #1 prior to the races at 12:00pm, the best bites from food trucks, and long drive & long putting competitions.
