See you at the 5th Annual Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby, September 12th at River’s Edge Golf Course!
Start those gravity-powered engines, Central Oregon! The 5th Annual Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby is on September 12th, 2026, at River’s Edge Golf Course. We are thrilled to have 20 teams registered and would love to invite our community out to be a part of this free annual event. The fun kicks off at 2:00pm with voting of spectators’ favorite cars, based on their design & creativity. Community votes count for 50% of the teams’ overall scores, so YOU can be a part of making sure your favorite team wins! The races will start at 3:00pm with multiple rounds of racing to follow. With new jumps, obstacles, and turns, this year’s course will prove to be the most exciting one yet.
This year, we have an incredible lineup of teams representing the nonprofit organizations that make Central Oregon, Central Oregon. Through Kendall Cares, up to $10,000 will be donated between the top three teams and their chosen beneficiaries. Some of these amazing organizations include Think Wild, Ronald McDonald House, Boys & Girls Club, Oregon Adaptive Sports, Scouting America, and so much more.
This event is not just about our teams, it’s about our amazing community as well. Get ready for food from the Corndog Company, Valentine’s Deli, Kona Shaved Ice, and activities like a bouncy house! There will be something for everyone, so grab your family and friends and get ready for an exciting day of celebrating.
Event Details
Who: Anyone can join us! If you still plan on participating, registration will close September 1st, 2026
What: A gravity-powered soapbox race where teams build their own cars, complete with working brakes and steering (and we highly recommend suspension to handle the course!).
Where: River’s Edge Golf Course
The course winds through the stunning setting of the pro shop and The Edge restaurant, making it just as fun to watch as it is to race.
When: September 12th, 2026 (Register by September 1st to claim your spot)!
