Watch ALL the Highlights from Kendall’s 2024 Reading Program at Crooked River Elementary School

June 4th, 2024 by

As the 2024 School year approaches the finish line, Kendall is celebrating the reading efforts and improvements from our wonderful group of 1st graders at Crooked River Elementary. For the last eight weeks, the Kendall Cares Team, including Kendall the golden retriever, have visited Miss Robirts 1st Grade Class to support them with their reading and writing. This is the second year Kendall has hosted this program, and we are so proud of this group of students.

Kendall is our community outreach pup and wears all the hats from Barketing Manager to Employee Therapist. Out of all her projects, reading with the kids is her favorite initiative. The Kendall Cares Team partnered with Crooked River Elementary School to design a program that not only encouraged the kids to read at home, but allowed them to improve their reading & writing at school every Friday with Kendall. Every week, the students took home reading cards and earned prizes from Kendall for time spent reading outside of the classroom. Over this 8 week program, you can see the progress in their reading as they complete their minutes and earn accessories to put on their very own Kendall reading buddies.

Kendall loves listening to the students read, especially when they write stories about her. Although we are sad the school year is coming to an end, we hope the kids continue to read over the summer as they prepare for 2nd Grade! The Kendall Cares team would like to thank Crooked River Elementary for inviting us to spend time with their students and curate a learning experience the kids will never forget.
