Kendall Auto Eugene give $5,000 to Kids First! Of Lane County From Polar Plunge
As part of 12 Days of Caring, Kendall employees went above and beyond by pledging dollars and taking the icy dunk into at our first polar plunge! out of 9 participants, 6 we’re able to raise over $500 a piece to take the plunge into the ice filled dunk tank – raising a total of just over $5,000! Kendall Auto Eugene was able to surprise Kids First Advocacy Center with a check from our Polar Plunge today, to help support the vital work they do in our community.
Kids First (KF) provides intervention and advocacy for children who are victims of, or witnesses to, crime. Children are referred to KF by community partners: law enforcement, DHS Child Welfare, and medical professionals. KF most often serves children for child sexual abuse, physical abuse, severe neglect, or witness to domestic violence. Approximately 2/3 of the children KF serves are under the age of 12. The purpose of an agency like Kids FIRST is to reduce the number of times a child has to talk about what has happened to them. Providing a warm, child-focused setting where children can be forensically interviewed, receive a medical exam, receive victim advocacy, and, if necessary, testify before the grand jury– all under one roof.
Thank you to all Kendall Eugene employees who participated in this years polar plunge!
