Personal Protective Equipment Drive For Local Health Care Workers
On Saturday, April 11th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Kendall Toyota of Eugene, the Eugene Emeralds and Heritage Distilling Co. hosted a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Drive to collect new, unused PPE to assist health care providers, and health care facilities working on the front lines.
In an effort to limit spread of infection, only healthy individuals were encouraged to drop off donations. Individuals not feeling well or are exhibiting any symptoms to include fever, tiredness and dry cough were asked to stay home. Donors were instructed to put items in their trunks/hatch backs and not exit their vehicles when they arrive to the drive-up drop off location. One of our on-site attendants (masked and gloved) removed the items for them.
We cannot thank our great community enough for the outpouring of support. We filled the back of a Toyota Tundra including more than six cases of N95 face masks, more than a dozen bottles of bleach, tons of homemade masks, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, and hundreds of dollars’ worth of restaurant gift cards.
